A little learning. A lot of love for cats.
Can My Cat Eat This? makes everyday cat food questions easier to explore. Start with the food checker or browse the cat library for guides to feeding, treats and feline nutrition.
Our fluffy ginger mascot is based on the owner’s real cat. He’s our chief snack inspector, and the inspiration for this friendly place to learn.
How the information works
The food checker uses AI for general educational answers. Common hazard warnings use fixed guidance based on ASPCA food-safety information. AI can miss ingredients, misunderstand a question or give an incorrect answer.
The articles are general educational reading. On 15 October 2026, the existing library received an AI-assisted editorial source check: claims were compared with the references linked in each guide, unsupported claims were corrected or removed, and untested recipes were withdrawn. This was not a clinical review, and we do not have veterinary sign-off.
“Published” records the original publication date. “Updated” records a substantive edit, and “Sources checked” records the editorial reference check. None of those dates implies that a veterinarian reviewed the article. Linking a source does not mean its publisher endorses our interpretation.
Your cat’s age, health, medicines and individual needs matter. Check important food or health decisions with your veterinarian, especially for kittens, cats with health conditions or suspected poisoning.
About the illustrations
The illustrated article covers were generated with AI using our ginger mascot as a character reference. They help identify topics; the food amounts, equipment and scenes are illustrative, not portion, treatment or construction instructions.
